Family Care Haiti Port au Prince, Haiti

Family Care Haiti was founded by Fritz and Magalie Desir in 2013. Fritz was born in Port-au-Prince and was raised in Port-a-Prince and Jacmel, Haiti. He lived with his mother and step-father until the age of 9 at which time he moved to Jacmel to live with his grandmother. He returned to Port-a-Prince 6 years later with his mother to live in Cite Soleil, one of the most poverty-stricken slums in the entire world.

Surrounded by hopelessness and despair, God began to work in Fritz's life birthing a compassion for orphans. As a young man, Fritz moved to Delmas section of Port-au-Prince to live with his cousin and start his adult life. He worked his way through school and successfully completed his high school program.

During these years, Fritz learned how to survive through extreme hardships.

Not only were his entrepreneurial skills developed, but his faith was also tested and strengthened preparing him for a lifetime of service for the Lord. At the age of 30, God sent an American Christian to provide the support for him to attend YWAM, Youth With a Mission Bible School in Haiti. God then led Fritz to work with a new orphanage in Port-a-Prince. During the next 9 years, he successfully oversaw the day-to-day operations of the 50-child orphanage. Once again, God was facilitating Fritz to help the starving children of Haiti. The first and primary passion of Fritz and Magalie is to teach and show the love of Jesus Christ and bring orphan children of Haiti to a saving knowledge of the Lord.

Our Mission and Goal

Our Mission is to partner with the Body of Christ to influence the people of Haiti with the hope of Christ, one life at a time. We will do this through the establishment and maintenance of an orphanage in Haiti where we provide nutrition, education, spiritual guidance and housing for children and young adults whose parents are absent or unable to care for them.

Our Vision : The Bible is very clear on our responsibility to care for the fatherless. It is our desire to be an agent and facilitator of transformation in as many of these children’s lives as possible, serving as the hands of Christ to protect, redeem and transform His children and teaching local churches to take on this biblical call as well. FamilyCare Haiti aims to help the orphans in Haiti to prepare them for the next generation to become men and women of God of Haiti and to be light in the dark.

Hope For The Future

Hope for the Future, Our goal is to provide children with the opportunity to receive the training and education to allow them to become useful members of society. Through education, we can change Haiti We can empower the next generation to do greater things. They will be able to face their futures boldly and without fear. Please help us make a difference in the life of a child. At FamilyCare the children receive a Christian education all our children go to Christian school. This is the only way to break the cycle of the the only key for their future. In Haiti the children need to wear uniforms and shoes to go to school. In Haiti we don't have a lot of public schools. We to enroll the children, pay for tuition, monthly payment, books and backpacks. It cost $300/ month per child to attend school.

An typical sponsorship is $40 or 100 /month, but sponsors can select a monthly amount that is right for them.

Sponsors receive a profile about the child they are supporting, the opportunity to correspond with their child and occasional updates and photos of the child. Sponsors are also welcome to visit FamilyCare and meet the child they support!

To ensure equal care and benefit to all children at New Hope, monthly sponsorship funds are combined and used to provide for all children at FamilyCare Haiti . This helps to ensure all children are cared for regardless of sponsorship status.

Sponsors are able to make special contributions for their child's birthday or Christmas gifts. These funds are used specifically for their child's gifts, and extra money is used for special gifts or outings for the family group that the child lives with.
